Andy Sydow

Denver, CO

Americana, rock, folk, singer-songwriter Andy Sydow is a jack-of-all-trades. As an accomplished multi-instrumentalist who's lyrics paint a picture of poetic realism, Sydow tours consistently both solo and with a backing band. Throughout the course of a show he’s known to croon an audience with acoustic guitar ballads, rip a slide guitar solo, and even sit down at the keys to show off his surprising boogie-woogie piano chops. He draws comparisons to voices like Paul Simon and Jackson Browne, mixed with a roots rock vibe reminiscent of Tom Petty or Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats.

In 2020, Andy made the most of his time off the road, releasing a three-song EP (Wicked Dreams EP) which garnered positive reviews from Post To Wire and Bandwagon Magazine. He and his team also created videos for all three songs, including a PG-13 viewing of "Still My Girl," where Andy made the song come to life with 4,000 original stick figure drawings.

He released three other singles later in the year, "Hard Times Are Alright," "My Friend" and "Piece of the Valley" as well as a cover medley of Fleetwood Mac's "Gold Dust Woman" and "The Chain." The hilarious cover art of the ladder is made up of Andy dressing as both Mick Fleetwood and Stevie Nicks to imitate the distinguishable Rumours cover. He began 2021 by releasing another three-song EP, Time. Love. Everywhere.

In July of 2021, Sydow recorded a full length album with Anders Osborne at Dockside Studios in Maurice, LA. Osborne produced as well as played guitar and sang backing vocals. Mike Dillion provided the percussion, and Casandra Faulconer completed the quartet on bass. The album does not yet have a release date.

Sydow also dipped his toes back into life on the road in 2021, embarking on a solo tour around the Midwest. The “Dirty 30 Baseball Tour” took place between mid-August and mid-September and featured 17 shows and 6 baseball games across 7 states, along with Andy's 30th birthday, and the release of a new EP (Time Stands Between).

The EP features three songs that Andy considers to be some of his best writing to date. The first single from the release, "Alibi" is receiving radio play nationally, and though not his first song to be played on FM stations, it is his first to receive air time on AAA radio.

Talking about his new EP, Sydow says, “These songs can be looked at as a reflection of life in a way. It's not necessarily a pretty reflection either. The character in 'Alibi' is clearly growing, but there's frustration and confusion in that growth. 'Just Want You To Notice Me Again' is a cute love song, but it's also narcissistic. 'When It Ends' is an appreciation of life, while simultaneously talking about the insignificance of it. These songs represent the joy and the pain and the curiosity and the melancholy all at once."

Sydow has had the opportunity to open for acts such as Chuck Prophet, Brett Dennen, Samantha Fish, Shane Smith & The Saints, Dick Dale, Koe Wetzel, Chase Rice, Tab Benoit, and Anders Osborne. He was also named a finalist in the 2021 International Songwriting Competition, the 2021 Kerrville Grassy Hill New Folk Songwriting Competition, the Fall 2020 Durango Songwriters Expo Song Competition, and the 2021 Acorn Songwriters Competition.

He's toured internationally and received accolades from LA Music Critic and No Depression. On top of that, 2021 saw the release of nearly a dozen tracks Sydow produced for other artists, including Lauren Frihauf and Payge Turner (The Voice, Season 19).

When he's not touring, writing, or recording, Sydow spends time talking to other creatives and music industry professionals on his podcast, Middle Class Rock Star. The hour"ish" long weekly program comes out every Thursday on all streaming platforms, as well as 30 FM stations around Colorado (via Chris K's Colorado Playlist). MCRS has played host to the likes of: Andy Frasco, Dango Rose (Elephant Revival), Jeremy Lawton (Big Head Todd & The Monsters), Todd Smallie (Derek Trucks, JJ Grey & Mofro), Mickey Raphael (Willie Nelson), Leftover Salmon, and Phil Cook.

Jeremy Facknitz

Colorado Springs

"Facknitz' songwriting style epitomizes the strength of such confessional greats as Jim Croce and Gordon Lightfoot, with an obvious wink to Michael Penn in the chord changes and an appreciation for melody and structure that might make Elvis Costello feel as though the torch had been passed."  - Alfred Watson, Green Room Diaries

Jeremy Facknitz has been entertaining audiences with his lovingly crafted music and high-energy performances for over 20 years. Since the 2002 break-up of his Detroit-based band "The Ottomans" (2001 Detroit Music Award Winner, Best New Alternative Band), Jeremy has performed primarily as a solo act, marrying folk-rock and jazz stylings to showcase his intimate stories of life, love, and self-discovery.

But from 2003 to 2017 those stories, for the most part, fell on deaf ears. Facknitz carved out a living performing at bars, coffeeshops, and corporate events while teaching lessons on the side. "I was happy to be making a living performing music, but my original music wasn't being heard, and as the years passed I found myself more and more frustrated playing to little more than the din of drunken conversation." Things came to a head on July 17th, 2017 when Jeremy was diagnosed with viral meningitis. "I came face to face with my mortality, and I realized it was time for a change. I quit the bars and spent the next year making the leap to house concerts, touring, and performing solely for listening audiences."

The leap has paid off. Jeremy was named a top 24 finalist from over 700 entries in the 2020 Grassy Hill Kerrville New Folk Songwriting Competition at Kerrville Folk Festival. His song "Ballet of an Unhatched Chick" was awarded semi-finalist distinction at songoftheyear.com for 2020. Since forming "The Jeremy Facknitz Band" in 2018, recruiting Mike Kimlicko (bass), Brad Plesz (drums), David Siegel (violin), John Standish (keys) and Ricky Sweum (sax), the band's muscular musicianship has turned heads in Colorado and plans are in place to begin touring outside the Centennial State in 2022.

In the meantime, Jeremy continues to tour primarily as a solo act, performing house concerts and at listening rooms in the United States, Canada and Europe. He's currently promoting his 5th album of original material, "From Those Sweet Ashes", recorded at Northpark Studios in Colorado and produced by Jarrod Headley, and he plans to begin recording his 6th album come spring 2022 with the same cast. His past albums "Gimmick", "What a Day", "Music From The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack", and "All's Well" can be found here.
